Random car ramblings [Saturday 3rd November 2018 at 11:24 pm]

I do find it both amusing and annoying when, while driving somewhere, I get followed by someone who's terribly offended at me sticking to a 30mph speed limit but then disappears into the distance behind me once the limit increases. No-one ever seems to expect an Alfa that is doing 30mph to be capable of also doing 60mph 😁

Speaking of Alfas, The Gnu has broken with the tradition and replaced his 159 with a Fiat Panda. Specifically, the TwinAir 4WD version, which being 4WD sneers at country roads, farm tracks, fields,... we went to Sheffield Park today (well, drove in, saw that it was jam packed, and went to Nyman's instead) and the Panda merrily bounded along the track to the overflow carpark. The Gnu reckons that the 159 would have scraped all along the raised ground between the wheel tracks and I would have been worried in the MiTo (which has better ground clearance but still has to watch out for speed humps), but the Panda had no problems which seemed most unfair. Then again, if I will drive an Alfa...
