Pasta Roast night

Tonight's pasta night was a bit different - as it was Paddy's birthday, instead of pasta we had a roast dinner! It's been quite some time since I've had a proper roast for a meal.

While it was being cooked, myself, Jonners, Paddy, Martin and Matt played a few rounds of Smash Bros Brawl. We started off with a very short tournament before settling for three-at-a-time rotation with increasingly silly battles - a good contender for "silly move of the day" was me kamikazing off the side of the screen with Marth's smash ball special (yes, that attack will keep going if it doesn't connect with anyone), but Martin nailed it by, as Bowser, grabbing Jonners and jumping into the pit.

After the meal it was time for some tabletop games - one group choose Kittens in a Blender, another Sushi Go, and myself, Jonners and Paddy gave Boss Monster a go. The basic premise is that you are a boss monster (hence the name), and are building a dungeon with the aim of stomping heroes before they make it to the end and stomp you. It's all wonderfully retro in style, and full of references to the 8-bit era of gaming and culture. Tonight's game was a close-run thing - Jonners almost won with an exact 10 souls while the pair of them tried to disable as much as possible of my dungeon. Luckily for me, they left my Crushinator active and that allowed me to boost my dungeon just enough damage to take out the incoming heroes and reach 11 souls for the win!
