What is a cloudberry, anyway? [Thursday 9th October 2014 at 10:06 pm]

Today's random discovery is that while a Kopparberg mixed fruits cider is a bad idea for making a gravy/sauce/whatever for the pork medallion recipe I posted last year, the Kopparberg cloudberry one that I picked up out of curiosity (what is a cloudberry, anyway?) works rather well. Especially with a decent dollop of clotted cream.

Come to think of it I've still got some cream left, along with a couple of apples and half a bag of crumble mix. Mmmm... apple crumble...

"cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus), also called salmonberry, yellowberry, bakeberry, malka, or baked apple berry, creeping herbaceous plant, native to the Arctic and subarctic regions of the north temperate zone, and its edible, aggregate fruit resembling structurally the raspberry."
