Beware the jabberwock... [Thursday 27th January 2005 at 9:58 pm]

We have completed work on the Jabberwock worm. However, the control system
still has some bugs in it. It is currently limited to only run on the
    machine it is started on.
We've stored it on the domain controller in a hidden format. To retrieve
it, run "vorpal" on the server. This will recreate it and save it as
"jabberwock.bin". Keep it safe - we do not want any hackers to get at it
as it can just as easily be used against us.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    "Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
    The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
    And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
    And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
    The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
    He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
    O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
    He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
    Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

File system trashed. Long live the Jabberwock!

Happy Rabbit Hole Day!

I've made this entry Number 20 in my list of Best Rabbit Holes. Who would have guessed that Infocom wrote computer viruses!

Lol... that is actually the output from a text adventure game I wrote for a programming assignment. I may release the source or a compiled version depending on university regulations (it was an assessed piece of work) and once I fix an annoying bug I missed!
