Record UK temperature for October set at 29.5°C

The record has been broken for the highest temperature recorded in October - at 29.5°C (85.1°F).

It was set at 13:27 in Gravesend, Kent, beating the previous 26-year record of 29.4°C (85.9°F) recorded on 1 October 1985, in the town of March, Cambridge.

So would I- it's a brisk 95°F here in Arizona, and we are still just above normal for the end of september. (shoot, it was still triple digits earlier in the month!)

My dad wanted to move to Arizona when I was in third grade. All this time I've thanked my lucky stars he didn't (I'm from New York, I've never known anything else. I could never leave this city), but today I'm upset that he didn't. XD

Yeah, Cambridge was pretty crazy yesterday. I cycled the route from my house to work, to make sure I had it right before I start there on Monday. Must have drunk a couple of litres of water en route, and still came back dehydrated...
