You don't realise just how many little nuances there are in a piece of music until you listen to it with decent earphones, or even better through a serious hi-fi system.

This post brought to you by managing to kill yet another pair of earphones, and replacing them with a pair of Sennheiser MX360 ones. What I thought were a remarkably good pair of generic earphones (the previous ones, which were by Panasonic) have been blown out of the water by *real* sound kit.
