Anyway, I was thinking about a picture that music4asoul did, called The fire baras (there's an older one, called Let me go where you go). We had been talking about it, as I both gave my imterpretation of it and tried to keep up with her when she went "actually, this bit means something else...".
Now, the one on the left is being persued by some spirirts/ghosts which have come from the castle, while the one on the right is more supportive. There's the etheral wings as well, which would symbolise freedom. According to music4asoul, the spirit that looks like Death (black clock, scythe) is actually in some way the god/creator/leader of the fire baras. So it's beckoning them back, it's sad to see them go. Where have they come from? There's the castle in the background, and the front gate faces to the left of the picture. In my mind, I'd say that the road out curves round so they've come from the castle, which is either sucking in or expelling a hoard of spirits (good/evil?) from the front gate. Add to that the general dark-looking crumbly nature of the castle with the green mist, and I think that it's evil spirits. Not what music4asoul had in mind, but we all see the world differently.
So I'd say that they've left the castle, been chased out by the spirits or whatever evil has settled, and are fleeing to a new land. The bara on the right would be the leader, maybe with some special knowledge of where they are going.
Anyway, I decided to draw the castle on the hill. This quickly turned into the idea of a watchtower of some sort, rather like the one at Leith Hill. I started drawing that, and from there it sort of transformed into a lighthouse. I left it for a day or two, and then went to scan it in. It was being a pain (as the biro didn't show up too well on the pc), and I mucked around with the advanced settings. I'd like to point out that this was drawn with blue biro on a normal pad of lined A5 paper.
Yes, I can't draw, but I don't care. Hasn't stopped me yet :D
