Tall ships (porthole)

(no subject)

Right, so there's a lot of fud on the internet about Virgin Media, BT and Carphone Warehouse getting together with a company called Phorm to serve targeted ads to their web users, by sending Phorm their user's web traffic logs. And, predictably, the internet is full of "the sky is falling" posts.

Now, this is not something I want on my connection, and I *will* be opting out from it. However, what I want to know is how it's going to be implemented, as there are good ways, bad ways, and "never ever use that ISP again" Very Bad ways of doing this.

Anyone know about the likely implementation of this?
